Yahoo Enters Group Texting Arena
Yahoo has entered the group texting market with the quiet launch of Mixd. The new service lets users set up groups and share photos, which can be managed online or via mobile, and which also allows users to send messages to the entire group, individuals within the group, or just participate silently.

Moconews received a note from Yahoo about the service:
"Mixd is a new a social-mobile experiment developed by Yahoo's Advanced Products Group (APG is a small team at Yahoo that develops and incubates innovative new product ideas) and Mobile team with a focus on youth communities. Mixd is a group mobile messaging and media sharing tool for people who want to organize and remember get-togethers...Currently, Yahoo is experimenting with this service idea as a means of gathering feedback to refine and evolve the service before a potential official launch in the future."
