Whilst my image creation skills may not be the best, the picture on the left represents the most expensive mobile number ever purchased. The number was auctioned for charity in Qatar yesterday, and sold for 10 million Qatari riyals, about £1.5 million.

The auction started at 1 million Qatari riyals, with bids set at 100,000 riyal increments. Whilst 8 bidders started, each paying 3000 riyals to participate, by the end there were only two bidders left. The total raised will be donated to Hamad Medical Services Foundation to help fund the building of hospitals in remote regions of the middle eastern country.
