Wireless in the Air

Filed in archive Wireless Access by Scott on January 21, 2006

So, I am the umpteenth chump to actually blog while in flight, but this is my second time using Connexion-based Wi-Fi access in flight. I am currently on a delayed SAS flight from Washington to Copenhagenlinks, and aside from the good in-flight service and pleasant staff, having this sort of access even of only for an hour in the air helps alleviate the boredom of flying.

At $9.95 an hour for the first hour, it's not bad and the connection is strong. A number of international carriers provide access using the Connexion service. Specific flights can be found here. Unfortunately, US carriers have some sort of irrational fear of good technology and useful services, among other things.
