Verizon Wireless is taking some baby steps towards better customer service. Starting this Sunday, mobile subscribers are now allowed to change their calling plans without having to extend their contracts. This is part of their initiative called verizon's Worry Free Guarantee. According to PCWorld
Currently, customers making such changes have to start a new contract of one to two years, a spokesman explained. The change means a customer nearing the end of a two-year contract could cut back to a more affordable minutes plan without extending beyond the two years, if, for example, he had purchased a second phone on another plan and wanted to reduce his overall wireless costs.Although this is a praiseworthy effort, Verizon Wireless should not stop here. In a matter of days or months other players will also move in this direction. In order to leapfrog competition, they should not compare their services with each other. Instead, they should adopt the best practices of leading mobile carriers in different countries to deliver the optimum service for their customers.

I will never trust Verizon again. I don't give a good gosh darn what they do to improve their customer service. They have been rude, totally contradictory and just plain old unprofessional that I will never use them again!
