User-generated Porn Making its Way onto Mobiles

Pocket Picks brings us news of the beginning of the end of mobile media. Following hot on the high heels of generic user-generated video sharing from UK 3G operator 3 called SeeMeTV, a new service called PixMeTV has hit the sordid side of the web. PixMeTV allows users to create their own mobile adult video and upload it for others. In return, the author gets a share of the revenue. quoted in the source article from Mobile Business, PixMeTV director Ed Baker said he wants to turn "Generation X into Generation XXX".

According to the story, contributors will get around 20 cents from each clip of theirs sold, which will retail at a per clip rate of about $1.40.

What's surprising is that it has taken so long to see a business like this emerge. Surely this has been going on covertly, but now a business model emerges to take it mainstream. The question is, what operators will want this in any way connected with their brand? None would embrace it directly, but they sure will enjoy the data revenue from mobile connections uploading.
