Australia-based web services company Tigerspike has done a deal with the UK-based publisher DMGT to provide a mobile social service around their free newspaper The Metro. The site will allow Metro readers to submit photos and videos to the newspaper, as well as read it on their mobile devices.
It's basically tapping into the social networking ideas that people are very excited about at the moment. Users can personalise the look at feel of the content as it comes in, as well as customise the look and feel of the site. It aims to make the Metro a destination for Londoners as opposed to just somewhere to read the news. We're pitching for more of the newspaper group's business, it's looking like in the region of well over half a million dollars," said TigerSpike chief operating officer and founder Oliver Palmer. Thanks to MocoNews.
