Mark Rollins over on The Gadgets Weblog wrote about a service I wrote about a while ago: SpinVox. SpinVox has a number of ways you can utilize their speech-to-text technology. One way is to use it to send text messages. The picture here gives a rough idea of how it deals with words it's not sure about.
Another even more useful feature is the ability to get voicemail sent to you as a text message. Instead of listening to your voicemail, you get a text version of the voicemail sent to your mobile phone as an SMS. Very cool, and I can imagine this being insanely useful for deaf people as well.
Pricing for this service is anywhere from $6 to $20 (US) a month based on the number of translations done by the service.
