SonyEricsson has topped the respected JD Power & Associates' annual survey of customer satisfaction in the US. For customers who have owned their devices more than two years, the Japanese-Swedish venture ranked highest in aggregate across five categories: physical design, operation, features, handset durability and battery function.
LG, Sanyo and Motorola followed SonyEricsson in the rankings. The survey also found that the average price of a handset has risen in the past year from $86 to $94, the highest since 1994, probably driven by the surge in multi-function handsets.
