Filed in archive Announcements by Jason Giacchino on October 15, 2008

Anyone remember back in the day before portable music players were synonymous with the name iPod or MP3? Back then Sony's Walkman was the thing to have. In an announcement today, it appears Sony's looking to resurrect some of the Walkman's popularity through their latest device: The Sony Ericsson W760a, 3G Walkman phone
The W760a will offer an accelerometer to let users shake or tilt to fast-forward to the next song or simulate motion while playing video games.
Integrating a digital Walkman music player with AT&T Mobile Music applications such as Napster Mobile, eMusic Mobile, Music ID and XM Radio, music is in the forefront of the W760a's list of features but its only the beginning of the goodies. The W760a will feature Mobile Email, instant messenger, full-HTML web browsing, a 3.2-megapixel camera and AT&T Navigator for turn-by-turn directions and mapping functions. Oh and you can use it to make and receive calls too.
The Sony Ericsson W760a is available for $129.99 after a two-year agreement and mail-in-rebate and comes in red, black and silver, with a silver scheme exclusive to RadioShack.
