Sony VAIO UX: More UMPCs Emerge

The Sony VAIO UX went from rumor to reality pretty quickly this week. A few days ago sites were showing off "is it/isn't it" images of a rumored UMPC from Sony, and today, bang, there is was. It's a beauty, though it needs to be for $1,800. With a 4.5 inch screen and running Windows XP, the device reportedly features Sony SmartWi technology, allowing users to seamlessly flow from WLAN to WWAN to Bluetooth. Wouldn't bet the house on it, but this new recognition of a multi-carrier wireless environment where we wander from signal to signal is a positive. Two cameras allow for on-the-fly video calls as well. The release date is sometime in July.

Man, I would just LOVE to install OSX on this baby! Drivers would be the problem – but what a kick ass portable this would make. Anyone share my opinnion?
