Sony may rule the roost in several areas of consumer electronics but the smartphone industry hasn’t been one of them. To potentially remedy this reality, Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X10 (their first Google phone) will go on sale in 2010.
X10 will run Google's Android software and feature a large 4.0-inch touch screen display, 8.1-megapixel camera and a Qualcomm 1GHz Snapdragon processor.
It will also offer Google applications such as Google Calendar, Gmail, YouTube, Google Maps Navigation for turn-by-turn directions and Android Market to download applications.
Price for the handset hasn’t yet been released but Sony states that the device should begin hitting markets in the first quarter of 2010.
