That is quite a downside for owners/users of this handset as although they may know of this problem there is always the chance of someone forgetting and then having to go through the headache of sorting their then non-usable credit card problem.

They shouldn't really have to be worrying about putting their handset and CC into the same pocket or placing them near each other.
