The economy may be tanking as a whole but when it comes to handset customers, the gadget with the most goodies still gets our attention.

T-Mobile today announced an 8.0-megapixel touch-screen camera phone that allows users to take photos like a point-and-shoot digital camera.

The samsung Memoir has an 8.0-megapixel camera with a Xenon flash, 16x digital zoom and five shooting modes. It features a large touch-screen with Samsung's TouchWiz user interface. A virtual QWERTY keypad texts multimedia messages, chat and email, while built-in Assisted GPS navigation offers turn-by-turn directions.

For handsfree use, the Memoir has stereo Bluetooth technology, speakerphone and voice-activated dialing. An integrated music and video player provides on-the-road entertainment.

Samsung's new photo widget lets users to post photos directly to favorite online photo sharing sites such as flickr, Kodak Gallery, Photobucket and Snapfish.

While a definitive release date and price have yet to be released for the memoir, the full specs can be viewed here.
