Samsung Debuts 2inch VGA Screen

Samsung Debuts 2inch VGA Screen

This popped up a couple of days ago, but it's been warm recently so we've been a little laid back, enjoying the sun. Samsung have announced the release of a 1.98" VGA LCD screen. The new screens, made using Samsung's amorphous silicon (a-Si) technology, will display full 640×480 resolution VGA in 16 million colours.

The new 1.98" VGA LCD is a transmissive LCD with liquid crystals that provide a wide viewing angle. The images are bright (250 nit) and clean (contrast ratio of 300 to 1). It is well suited for mobile products that require high picture quality.

Samsung hasn't announced any upcoming handsets or partnerships that will see the display used in mobile devices, but we can hope.
