Pay Per Use Or Minute Bundles?

When you're buying mobile phone service, there is generally two ways to go: (pre) pay for precisely what you (are going to) use, or buy a bundle of minutes per month, possibly on a contract basis-typically 2 years in the U.S.. Which mobile phone ends up being cheaper?

Because of the "tricks" the U.S. carriers play with things like mobile-to-mobile and night and weekend minutes, it's hard for the average consumer to cut through it all and make an informed decision. I am of the opinion that for the vast majority of users, a prepaid option would be far more cost effective. Oh sure, some months you'd pay more than your typical monthly fee, but over the course of a year or two, the overall cost is likely going to be lower. More details about this on phoneboy.com.

What do you think makes the most sense for you, pay-per-use or minute bundles? Let me know what you think!
