Palm Pre has Captured Wireless Carriers' Attention

Business users and smartphone fans alike are anxiously counting down the days until Palm's Pre hits the market. In a surprising move, the Pre will launch on June 6 for $200 exclusively for Sprint.

As expected, the remaining domestic carriers have their sights set on the Pre as well. Earlier this week AT&T's Chief Executive Randall Stephenson said that he sees his company selling the Pre after Sprint's exclusive deal with the smartphone has expired.

Immediately following this news, Verizon's Chief Executive Lowell McAdam said in a webcast that he too hopes to have the highly anticipated Pre on the Verizon network within the next six-months.

The Pre is viewed by many as Palm's best hope to win back market share lost to competitors such as the Apple iPhone and Research In Motion's BlackBerry devices.
