Palm knows that it needs a pretty tight program if it's going to lure users away from RIM and Apple and has released an update to its operating system to address several early snafus.
The new WebOS 1.3.5 offers updates, improvements and a housecleaning of the system currently running the Pre and Pixie.
Among the notable improvements, .3g2 extensions will now play properly as audio files (not video files); the web browser supports animated GIF files; improved application download experience from the App Catalog, the ability to download multiple applications at once, as well as pause, resume and cancel downloads. The goofy program limit of the original OS is finally removed and fully erasing the device can be performed more easily with 1.3.5.
The free download is available for Pre and Pixie users now.
