Onyx Concept Handset
One of my friends has just made me aware of this new concept handset from from Synaptics and Pilotfish. The device utilises touch-screen technology to do away with the traditional mobile keypad altogether, using Synaptics' ClearPad, a touch sensitive device that recognises taps, points and complex gestures.
"Mobile phones are no longer used just for making calls -- they have become a single access point for critical day-to-day information," explains Clark Foy, vice president of Synaptics. "The Onyx phone is a breakthrough illustrationlinks of how advances in interface technology and collaborative design will drive the future of mobile interactions and services."
For more about this new concept in handsets, along with some more pictures, head over to the Onyx product page.
