Aside from just the cool way of abbreviating the name "Nate", it appears the code N8 is about to have new significance in the smart phone realm. In fact it now applies to Nokia's first handset running the highly anticipated Symbian 3 operating system.
N8 is set to feature a 12.0-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens and a Xenon flash to capture photos and record DVD-quality videos (with Dolby Digital Plus surround sound through an HDMI connection).
Perhaps most exciting is that the handset will also have the capacity to stream Web TV services, browse social networks and navigate the globe with free mapping software.
The N8 (thanks to the Symbian 3 OS) will boast a more responsive and user-friendly interface, faster multi-tasking capabilities and multi-touch functionality with flick scrolling and pinch-zoom options; similar to that on the iPhone.
Users looking to get on board should expect to pay to play as the Nokia will be coming in the third-quarter with an MSRP of $495.
