Nokia Targets Photogs With Their Next Phone

Despite posting huge losses for the past quarter, Nokia's got its sights set on the next big thing. That next big thing in this case happens to be the N86 8MP, a smartphone with an 8.0-megapixel auto-focus camera and Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens.

Nokia says the N86 8MP is a true replacement for point-and-shoot digital cameras, integrating a CMOS sensor, dual LED flash, 20x digital zoom, variable aperture, high-speed shutter and filters such as red-eye reduction and panorama view.

The handset also comes with a 2.6-inch AMOLED screen, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth technology and high-speed HSDPA Internet.

The North American version of the N86 will support U.S. 3G networks and come preloaded with services such as Ovi Maps, N-Gage and Ovi Files. Users can also connect with social networking sites through its Share Online client.

The Nokia N86 8MP will be available in the coming weeks for $558 through Nokia Flagship Stores and online.
