Nokia Extends Mobile Search
Nokia has extended the reach of its mobile search service, adding coverage to Denmark, France, Italy, Norway and Spain. The application, which is a free download for the Nokia N-series handsets and certain other Series 60-based mobiles, provides easy integration with a number of search service providers to allow users to perform local searches from their mobile.
Nokia has teamed with the most comprehensive content providers in each respective market to enable easy and precise local searches. Mobile Search users will be able to access local content from Eniro, Findexa, Fonecta, Page Jaunes, TPI PaginasAmarillas.es, Seat Pagine Gialle and Yell.com. Once Mobile Search has found the required destination, this clever application directs the user to the right location with the aid of a digital map with dynamic panning and zooming, where maps are available.
The mobile search arena is a hotly contested one at the moment, especially with the cost of data transfers coming down. Users in France and Sweden can also search for friends and family using the people search service available in those countries.
