Mossberg: Mobile Consumers Deserve Better!

Finally, someone very intelligent and influential like Wall Street Journal Writer/Editor Walt Mossberg has the guts to spill the blatant secret of the US wireless phone industry: It's full of BS!

From lousy customer service to its backward stifling system, mobile consumers are duped because this industry "severely limits consumer choice, stifles innovation, crushes entrepreneurship, and has made the U.S. the laughingstock of the mobile-technology world, just as the cellphone is morphing into a powerful hand-held computer."

In essence, these mobile operators act as gatekeepers dictating what products and services we need! Sadly, this is one of the industries where customers really can't get what they need and want. Mossberg is right, it "like the old bureaucracies of communism."

So far, mobile consumers are winning some battles such as the class-action lawsuit against T-Mobile and pending Cell Phone Empowerment Act of 2007. However, the war is far from over for nobody believes these big boys will take this matter sitting down.

Would it be great if the next mobile revolution is not about a new technology but mobile users standing up against the Stupidity and indifference of these mobile operators?
