Mobile Europes Gets The Lowdown on Mobile MySpace
Filed in archive Mobile Community by tom on November 27, 2006
Mobile Europe has managed to get a lot of information about Myspace's plans for a mobile version in an interview in this months edition. MySpace plan to concentrate on delivering core services through mobile, rather than a 'MySpace Lite' service, and that the mobile version of MySpace would launch alongside new country-specific sites as they themselves launch.
"We're looking at a number of different solutions, whether client or WAP based, depending on different distribution points and partners. Our ambition is to get MySpace Mobile into as many handsets as possible, through as many distribution points as possible"
It will be interesting to see how MySpace eventually approach putting their popular social networking service onto the smaller mobile screens, and how the broad range of customisation available on MySpace will translate into an environment with limited CSS support, and where a lot of users already have to pay for every byte downloaded.
