Mobile Adult Content a $3.5 Billion Market by 2010

Thanks to the growing acceptance of streamed video and video chat services, every pervert will be delighted to know that the mobile adult services worldwide is projected to reach $3.5 billion by 2010.

According to Juniper Research, Western Europe will remain the largest regional market for mobile adult services throughout the period covered with revenues increasing from $775m in 2007 to $1.5 billion by 2012.

This service is profitable because most users are not price sensitive. However, Juniper warns adult content providers not to overprice content.

In the U.S. and Canada, most mobile operators are somewhat hesitant to offer adult content and age-verification systems. On other hand, strong censorship policies in China and South Korea hinder the growth in the Asian markets.

"While in most forms of mobile entertainment, the brand is king. That truism does not apply in mobile adult content. The most popular genre amongst consumers is graphic, amateur content. If operators truly wish to maximize their revenues from adult content, then they should provide consumers with a mix of genres, in which white-label content is given equal prominence to that of major brands," said author Dr. Windsor Holden, in a press release.

Is it good to encourage these type of practice? I feel that adult mobile content will spoil the young generation.

Nice, but I am still wondering why the operators are not getting even more faster into this new business?
