Microsoft Piles on Mobile DTV

Microsoft has joined the already heavy-hitting lineup getting behind the DVB-H standard for mobile digital television by announcing it is joining the Mobile DTV Alliance. Other participants include Intel, Modeo, Motorola, Nokia and Texas Instruments. While the MDTVA has been derided as a talking shop in some quarters (and aren't all standards groups just that?), getting vendors aligned early is bound to help the overall cause of mobile DTV and avoid five flavors of the stuff hitting the market at the same time.
