It seems every developer is out to impress the hard-to-please Steve Jobs. It turned out more than 100,000 developers have downloaded the beta iphone sdk
just 4 days after its release. Moreover, Apple brags that more 1 million people have watched its launch video at its site. Some of the leading iPhone SDK developers include big names in the industry such as AOL, Electronic Arts, Epocrates, salesforce.com and Sega.
Despite the big turnout, some developers have expressed their disappointment over this much hyped mobile platform. One of the leading underground iPhone developers Jonathan "NerveGas" Zdziarski said in iPhone Atlas, "The Apple SDK, as many have come to find, has arguably crippled much of the functionality that set the iPhone apart when first released. Even simple features like the ability to run a program in the background, have been crippled in the Apple SDK."
