iPhone Fails Expectations

iPhone Fails Expectations

After a month of absence, I'm finally back here to deliver more interesting mobile trends affecting the way we communicate with each other. So here we go.

First stop – iPhone.

After months of marketing hype coming from Steve Jobs and powered by blogs all over the world, reality sets in as share of Apple went down by 6%. The low activation numbers of iPhone is partly to blame for this dismal performance.

According to MobileBurn:

Disproving analyst projections of up to 500,000 units being sold on the first two days the iPhone hit store shelves, which also formed the last two days of the second financial quarter, AT&T has reported that just 146,000 customers activated an iPhone during the period.

It's still early to size up the success of iPhone but this is not a good way to start. Knowing Steve Jobs I'm sure there is always a Remedy for this problem.

There are actually more than 146,000 bought the iphones during the first 2 days. However, many people couldn’t activate their phone initially. That could explain why the number is so low.
