
iResearch have published a new report into WAP usage in China over the coming years, predicting more than 100 million WAP users this year, rising to 230 million by 2008.
This year, China Mobile stared decreasing its service fee for WAP Internet access, which encourages the use of mobile internet. WAP service, after accumulation of several years, finally breaks ice and enters its rapid expansion phase.
Perhaps the critical point to note here is that China Mobile have made the decision to reduce the cost of access to WAP services, making it more affordable for casual users.

The business gradually became the second dominant value added service after SMS service, but it still far behind user original expectation, also the users are not accustomed to the use of wireless Internet. All of these are might caused by telecommunication fare, telecommunication content and integration of industrial chain.
