
HTC, a company not particularly noted for their presence in the mobile phone market, has just released a new powerhouse converged handset called the S740. The direct successor to the S730 and S710 Vox, the new S740 features the same numeric keypad and full QWERTY keyboard on a slider.
The HTC S740's features include a large 2.4-inch TFT LCD screen, mobile internet browsing and surfing via broadband HSDPA and Wi-Fi connectivity, a 3.2 megapixel camera and a microSD card for memory expansion. For its other features, the HTC S740 boasts of a 528MHz Qualcomm MSM722 processor, Windows Mobile 6.1, 256MB ROM/256MB SDRAM, a stand-alone GPS and aGPS, FM Radio with built-in microphone and speaker, ring tone supports music formats such as AAC, AAC+, AMR-NB, AMR-WB, QCP, MP3, WMA and WAV.
