Google CEO Eric Schmidt told a panel at the World Economic Forum in Davos that the future of mobile advertising is a "huge revolution", contrary to the conservative projection of Forrester Research. The mobile advertising market is projected to generate a meager $1 billion in 2012.
"It's the recreation of the Internet, it's the recreation of the PC (personal computer) story and it is before us — and it is very likely it will happen in the next year," said Schmidt, in a news article.
While Schmidt's words in the Internet world are immensely influential, analysts in the mobile industry are not convinced of this fearless and self-serving prediction. Moreover, the powerful Google CEO has criticized Forrester for failing to account the tipping point of mobile Web.
Who do you think will win in this prediction battle? An established research firm or a company known for its visionary insights?

We at mobiSolv (http://mobiSolv.com) truly believe in the emergence of Mobile Marketing & Advertising.
This is very relevant for a country like India where the PC penetration is very low in comparison to the Mobile penetration. More people would access the Internet on the Mobile here than on the PC. Moreover the factors like cost and complexity are a hindrance to PC adoption beyond the metros and urban cities.
Its very near in future when the number of Mobile users would be more than the number of newspaper readers and that creates a totally new channel for the Marketeers.
We at mobiSolv operate myAdz (http://myAdz.in) which is the largest Mobile AD Network in India.

I walked into a business to talk to the owner about mobile marketing. It was funny, because the lady behind the counter said,\”Oh, I don\’t think that she would be interested in that, and our customers are old.\” I felt so sorry for her. What do they think is going to happen to their business as their \”old\” customers are no longer viable? Mobile is the best way for ANY business to stay competitive, and is so much better than most other forms of traditional advertising.
