Early predictors, give yourself a pat on the back- Google has finally confirmed long-standing suspicions that they will make their vast online library of books available for mobile phones.
Only unlike what you may have suspected, the Internet search giant isn't limiting mobile book access to those devices that run thewir own operating system, Android. Rather, Google is opening the vault to mobile versions of books optimized to be read on small screens on any mobile device with a web browser such as the Apple iPhone, RIM's Blackberry line or Windows Mobile powered Smartphones (to mention a few).
Mobile users can access the new mobile version of Google Book by punching in the following URL into their web browser:
http://books.google.com/m into their web browser.
Google's announcement comes days before Amazon unveils a new generation version of its popular Kindle electronic book reader. Amazon also said it plans to make its online store of e-books for the Kindle available on mobile phones.
Google will initially only offer non-copyrighted books in the public domain. Amazon, on the other hand, will offer the latest releases and 230,000 titles, including 103 of the 112 current New York Times bestsellers.
