T-Mobile users have cause for celebration as the carrier has confirmed plans to sell the Garminfone, a Google Android-based phone with Garmin's proprietary global-positioning navigation software, starting June 9 for $200.
The Garminfone's feature set will include a 3.5-inch touch screen display, 3.0-megapixel camera, high-speed 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity and a car mount for automobile use.
Developed with PC maker Asustek, the Garminfone gives consumers voice-guided and on-screen directions with automatic re-routing, real-time traffic warnings, weather and gas prices and even an application that helps the user backtrack to the car!
This latest news comes amidst Garmin (along with rival TomTom) scrambling to find new sources of revenue considering the fact that converged devices are quickly obsoleting dedicated GPS units. While TomTom has decided to focus on licensing its software to accomplish this goal, Garmin has taken a more radical approach by opting to jump into the fiercely competitive smartphone market.

3.5-inch touch screen display is somewhat a little bit small for my eyes. I need to buy glasses.
I like Garminfone gives consumers voice-guided and on-screen directions with automatic re-routing, real-time traffic warnings, weather and gas prices and even an application that helps the user backtrack to the car!
Maybe have a better built in speaker ?

This is really very good news that Garmin had been launched its new handset with the deal of T-Mobile. I think this deal will be very beneficial for the consumers because the both brands are famous for their reliable and quality products. This handset of Garmin has very potential to compete with other brnads.
