Friendster Goes Mobile
Filed in archive Mobile Internet by leo on December 12, 2007
The saying "better late than never" applies to social networking site Friendster and its decision to go mobile. This is one of the immediate outputs of its recent decision to open its network to outside developers.

Although Friendster is overshadowed by Facebook and MySpace in the U.S., it has established a strong grip in Asian countries. More than 56 million members can now be connected anytime, anywhere.

Members must add the "Go Mobile" widget first to their account. Then they can visit and log in to the mobile site at FriendsterToGo.com through their phone browser. Basic features of mobile Friendster include:

  • Update your status (give a shout out) on the go to let your friends know what you are up to instantly.

  • See the status of your friends

  • Check out the latest pictures of your friends

  • Lookup profiles

  • Send and receive mail messages from your friends
