A UK company has announced that it is trying out the mobile services for ads model by launching a new service giving users free calls and texts in return for listening to adverts.

Blyk, the company behind the scheme, has already signed Buena Vista, Coca-Cola, L'Oreal Paris, and Yell.com for the British launch. It is rumoured to be close to a network deal with Orange.

I'm not entirely sure this will work, as a number of similar businesses have been tried - and failed - in the past.
