Xumii, the free mobile social address book, has been named one of the 42 nominees for the 2009 MobileMonday Mobile Peer Awards. Industry visionaries, developers and influencers selected Xumii based on the company's industry innovation. The winners will be announced at the GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on February 16.
Xumii creates a mobile social address book that connects all a user's contacts - from social networks, instant messenger services and mobile devices. From their mobile phones, Xumii users can chat, update their status messages and share media with all their contacts. What makes Xumii unique is that it allows people to share mobile media and participate in threaded conversations across networks and platforms (Facebook, MySpace, imeem, GoogleTalk, AIM, Yahoo Messenger, Windows Live Messenger, Flickr and YouTube) through a single user interface.

Should be interesting to see what the social networks do about sites like these i read recently they sued several sites for allowing you to do just that!

I don't know unique it is - it looks like Zyb with a broader social repertoire. I definitely don't think it's innovative.

Guys, There is one software called Messmo has released a version where you can see when your buddies are online. This is better than IM, because it uses your friend's mobile number. Once you installed it on your cell, you can send Free SMS to any mobile, Text messages, attachments... and much more!

I have downloaded Messmo on my mobile. Few of my friends also have been started using this software. I share my snaps and some text with my friends. Simple way to access it is, just browse the link m.messmo.com from your cell phone and start smsing free of cost.
