Mobile Content
by tom on June 14, 2007
We posted a few days ago about a new service introduced by Vodafone that automatically converts websites so they can be viewed on mobile, but which has the unfortunate side-effect of breaking existing mobile sites by overriding handset browser headers with a generic header, forcing those sites which detect and deliver content based on this information to deliver generic Web content rather than target, specific Mobile content.
Now Carlo at Mobhappy appears to have identified the company whose technology Vodafone have used.

It would appear that Novarra's the vendor responsible for the cock-up that rendered many mobile web sites useless for Vodafone UK subscribers. The company's put out a press release touting the wonders of its "Vision(TM) server version 6.5″, highlighting the "rich user experience" it offers, and how it "automatically transforms the web to fit handset specific capabilities".

The conversion of websites often results in akward appereances. I dont know how long it will takes for the iPhones to bring real Mobile which dont empoly CE operating systems.

Some sites won't function properly and won't deliver the functions you may need. so far, it's near to useless, waiting for the update and improvements.
