Cellular News are reporting that Fox Mobile has done a deal with Airborne Entertainment and Mowave to bring family guy content to mobiles outside the US. The deal will see Mowave creating a range of Family Guy mobile portals that will be made available on a number of operator portals across Europe. Mowave will also work with Airborne to create a range of mobile content such as wallpapers, ringtones (and their variations, animations and various community applications.

The initial launch areas for these new Family Guy services will be the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and the Netherlands.

"Family Guy has really become a worldwide phenomenon. It seems that there is something universally entertaining about the irreverently odd world of the Griffins." said Leighton Webb, VP, International Wireless for Fox Mobile Entertainment. "We're excited to bring that unique world to mobile phones around the globe and we're sure that the show's success will continue in this new media."

Fox must be thanking their lucky stars they managed to dig themselves out of the hole they made by cancelling the TV show in the first place, especially given how popular it has become based on DVD sales alone. There is however now news on whether or not Family Guy episodes will be coming to a mobile screen near you anytime soon.
