Czech software developer Circletech has dropped us a note about their SMS encryption technology called SMS 007. Using a Java app, SMS007 uses AES and user-derived keys to support the sending and receipt of encrypted SMS messages.

Besides encryption of the messages, SMS 007 has also other security features like a hidden contact list, which cannot be seen from the outside without knowledge of the main password - therefore, if someone steals your phone or just gets it in their hands for a while, he/she still cannot read not only your messages, but not even whom are you writing to.

SMS007 has been available for Czech customers for 5 months or so, and is now being mae available to a wider audience through the Nokia Software Marketplace and Clickapps.com.
