Digital Lifestyle Day, a gathering of the great and good looking at how digital technologies are changing, and are changed by, our lifestyles, kicks off in Munich next week. I am holding my breath still hoping to procure an invite (are you out there?). The event has a bit of a TED or DEMO feel to it, with European tech thinkers and doers mingling with the usual suspects from major US emerging technology events.

Still following on the success of events such as Les Blogs, in Paris at the end of last year, DLD marks a bit of a renaissance in European technology symposia. After a freeze following the tech markets crash in 2001-2004, Europe is standing up and leading globally with some very progressive technologies and social applications of them, and the momentum seems to be increasing all the time. Next up after DLD is LIFT06 in Geneva. See some of you out there!
