China's Mobile Population Exceeds Total US Population
Filed in archive Mobile Culture by tom on April 11, 2007
This is a scary statistic in many ways, and an exciting one in others: There are now reportedly more mobile phone subscribers in China than there are people in the US.
China Mobile, the world's largest mobile operator, recently announced that its subscriber base grew to 301 million, surpassing the Total population of the United States.
That said, another recent news item (I've lost the link sorry) reported one Chinese woman who allegedly had 2,000 accounts, none of which she actually signed up for.
