According to China's Ministry of Information there are now almost 400 million mobile phone subscribers in China, a rise of almsot 59 million over last year, indicating more than 3 million new people subscribed every month. Of these, more than 70 million are subscribed to some form of packet-data capable connection, with almsot 40 million being on GPRS networks.
Conversely there are some 110 million Internet users in China. With the immminent launch of 3G in China, and predicitions of up to 50 million 3G subscribers within 3 years, the mobile content market is set to boom.
