Just when it gets quiet, the Apple iPhone rumor machine cranks back up, rattling its overworked cylinders. In the latest installment, Apple has supposedly done an exclusive deal to distribute the iPhone via Cingular in the US, and has ambitions to sell 50 million units next year. Of course, this requires the cooperation of Cingular's store staff, something I can't count on.

Meanwhile, Nokia is pushing the mobile music market into a higher gear even without Apple as well with more storage and new devices for music.
