Another Month, Another Texting Record

Another Month, Another Texting Record

The BBC has news that SMS texting levels in the UK reached a new high in May, topping 3.3 billion. The FA Cup, Champions League and Big Brother all helped contribute to the new record figure.

The usage is up 26% on the equivalent period last year, and during the month individual texts averaged just over 106 million a day, with more than 120 million sent on the final day of the FA cup and 124 million on the final day of the Champions League.

And as Emily points out, the UK is the only country to regularly report mobile text usage figures. Anyone care to take bets on June's usage figures being even higher?
