America's Most Convenient Bank Offers First Mobile Private Banking Service

Despite the recent findings of JupiterResearch that mobile banking is not really based on consumer demand, Commerce Bank still launched Virtual Private Bank – the first web-based private banking platform accessible via PDAs like Blackberry, Treo, and even the upcoming iPhone.

Striving to be consistent as America's Most Convenient Bank, this new private banking platform provides more comprehensive wealth management tools aside from the basic online calculators and other account aggregation services.

The move enables commerce bank's private banking customers to seamlessly access all of the information they need and care about, on a device that they typically never leave home without. This technology equips clients with an up-to-date financial picture of all of their assets, and organizes other important information — such as stock trackers, medical and insurance information, account numbers, world news, weather, sports and even their favorite wines.

Despite the Jupiter research? Look, ask anyone if they would use something that does not exist yet and most say no. Banks built ATMs before there was “demand” for ATMs. Then they built online banking before there was “demand” for online banking. Same thing is happening in mobile banking. Every bank worth talking about is working on a mobile project, and those that are not will be soon. Leaders lead or they get out of the way.
