Yes, the headline is correct. Samsung have announced a mobile handset that includes a 10 megapixel camera. The camera also features 2x optical zoom alongside 5x digital zoom and bluetooth for direct printer connections.
The handset also include DMB support for watching satellite television, TV out, MMC card support and a QVGA display. The handset is destined only for the Korean market though, so don't expect to see these going on sale on your favourite carrier anytime soon.

I think 10mp is overkill… and honestly, if you’re taking 10MP photos, shouldn’t you be shooting with a DSLR?
It’s getting to be like video cards and the never-ending battle to increase frame rates…

It must be said that most people have no need for a 10 megapixel camera. Also 10 mp doesn’t mean that the picture will be better than say a 3.2 megapixel camera it all depends on the lens, lighting, etc.

10 Megapixel Handset-Samsung is well known brand, they have major products in consumer electronics such as television sets, washing machines, camrea and mobile phones, i think they are now going to give their customers 2-in-1 option such as this handset Camera+mobile phone.

I love samsung phones, i currently have the samsung e900 and love it, but the camera is only 2mp. I can’t wait to get my hands on the 10mp phone.

The 5 megapixel camera on the Nokia N95 uses a level of compression which is not excessive. I have noticed that the ‘x’ megapixel is not a clear indication of the subsequent picture quality. Be wary of such claims.

Same here, Samsung easily make the sexiest phones on the market. I can’t wait for this to come out, I just had my D900 stolen so this will likely be my next new phone.

And to think that this technology is almost 2 years old truly kills me. Technology keeps getting better and better, while prices are getting knocked down. A new, ‘improved’ version will probably be out by now – just to inflate the price tag.

the 10 megapixel sure will be great, however it all depends how instantly it will take the photos.
it would be useless to have a 10 megapixel camera if it takes long to take a picture and save to a memory card.
